Here's What You Missed Over The Weekend At MWC 2019

Last week Barcelona opened its doors to more than 100,000 visitors for the biggest mobile trade show on the planet—MWC 2019. According to GizmoChina, Nubia will follow up with a wearable device with a flexible screen at MWC. Xiaomi's first 5G phone will not be foldable. The devices took home several world firsts , including first Wi-Fi 6 devices and first official 5G smartphone. A foldable phone and 5G weren't the only things Huawei wanted to discuss in Barcelona.

These were announced just before the show and for most of them, we had full reviews prepared in time for the start of MWC. LG opts to release a second screen accessory rather than a device with a single flexible display. The Huawei Mate X features a folding display while also remaining surprisingly thin when folded out to its full screen.

It seems every company is releasing either a foldable phone or a 5G phone (or both) at MWC. ZTE's temporary death sentence by the US government took the company off the map last year, but it's making a comeback at MWC 2019. Sony quite literally upped its game for MWC 2019 with three new phones with mega-tall 21:9 aspect ratio displays.

This thing is an absolute beauty be behold, with a giant and almost bezel-less 8in display that folds out rather than -in to form a regular 6.6in-screen smartphone. After a week of exciting announcements, MWC (Mobile World Congress - the world's largest gathering for the mobile industry which takes place in Barcelona) is over.

While some other devices too won't let you feel low in terms of camera setup. The V50 ThinQ 5G is set to be LG's power first 5G phone. Here's what we expect to see at the big mobile-phone trade show from LG, Samsung, Microsoft, and more. You've just won a Tech Advisor 'Best in Show' at MWC 2019 award with a seriously smart toothbrush that will have its users desperate to show off their pearly whites.

And lo and behold, Oppo VP Brian Shen posted a video on Weibo on the first official day of MWC, showing a folding phone prototype that follows the same form factor as the Huawei Mate X. Don't expect to see it on sale soon though; Oppo VP Alen Wu told us that Oppo is waiting to see what "pain points" foldable phones solve before building devices using this tech.
